My Fox Chicago delves into the new regulations set by the CPSIA 2008 on lead testing for toys. Besides giving information on how parents can check to see if the toy they plan to put under the Christmas tree is safe, they talk to Rick Woldenberg, Chairman, of Learning Resources. Woldenberg is concerned that the CPSIA has not made provision for handcrafters, artisans and small manufacturers of childrens items and the strict mandatory testing will put many out of business. On August 14, 2009, Public Law 110-314 will be going into effect. Time to tell congress to repeal this stupid law. Or maybe they should look for another job, since they can’t represent us.
