Daughters’ first Christmas. Baby gear for Christmas. What to buy her?

10

My daughter will be 4 months old on Christmas. Not old enough to understand the concept about “Santa”. I was thinking of getting her some baby books, clothing, something for her crib such as the Rainforest Waterfall Soother or something similar, a playard, and a bouncer and/or activity center. But, is that fair to count those as gifts, since she is entitled to them in the first place? If anyone has any other suggestions, feel free to submit them. Thanks…

For my first baby at christmas (he was 6 months) we just bought him stuff that he ‘needed’, and not necessarily a lot of fun stuff. We got him a car seat that he needed, and I think we bought him books and some blocks. I think we also got him some bibs and clothes. We let the family buy him mostly the toys and such. I think you’ve got some good gifts picked out for her, sounds like stuff she needs. You don’t have to go overboard, if you have family members buying for her, they’ll take care of buying her the ‘fun’ stuff haha.

My son will be 6 months old at Christmastime. I’m sure we’ll buy him things, but he won’t have a clue what’s going on, so we’re not going to go crazy or have a list of what we’re getting him. We buy him stuff all the time. And I’m sure his aunts and uncles and grandparents will buy him plenty.

Those are fine things to count as gifts. Your daughter will be 4 months old, she will be fine with those gifts. Get her things that she needs.

It’s a great idea to get the things you *need*… and your daughter will probably just play with the paper either way :)

Sears has this innertube thing for babies 3-36 months. You put them in the middle and they sit there and play and they don’t hurt themselves if they fall over. My son will be 7 months old come christmas and thats what he’s getting along with some books and clothes and other stuff. Its on page 816 of the sears wishbook.

she is too young to remember anyway so you dont have to get her much but what you said sounds really good, babies are hard to buy presents for as everything they need anyway you would usually buy them but making some of them her presents is a good idea. if my baby is born before christmas i will just make a few of the things weve bought her as her presents such as toys and teddies etc.

Maybe you could get her a baby entertainer like this one – http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3590421/Trail/searchtext%3EGRACO.htm my son is 6 months old and loves playing in it at playgroup. He has been playing in it since he was 4 months old.

It is a bit pricy, but all the kids i have seen going in them have loved playing in it.
