Can anyone recommend a strong fabric for a dog bed?

6

I want to make my dog a bed but I need a strong fabric because he likes to chew and scratch at it and it’s not long before there’s a hole in it.

    Denim.

I actually made a dog pillow out of some scrap canvas material I had. So far…it hasn’t been destroyed…although I don’t think they chew on that particular pillow (they prefer to eat the leather couch…grr.) It’s not like the burlap sack material, but more like what a canvas shopping bag is made out of. I actually had it from a set of discounted curtains I bought. It was an extra piece in the bag, and it turned out to make a good dog pillow.

*Oh, dog addict has a great idea. I never even CONSIDERED denim! I am stealing that idea!

I would say canvas, burlap, or recycled seatbelt.

Upholstery fabric…. the thicker the better.

I usually find some good remnants big enough to do the job….and on sale!

Old potato sacks made of hessian.
