dog beds. What bed is the easiest to keep clean?
I am in need of a dog bed. my friends have a few different kinds, but all seem to be forever filthy! They are always buying new ones. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
also, are heated dog beds neccessary?? My pup sleeps down stairs and it does get a bit chilly in the winter, but is the heated bed safe?
My dog sleeps in her crate every night and goes in during the day just to be in her space. Should a bed go inside the crate or stay outside?

Find one that the cover can come off and go in the wash machine.
Oh – I buy the beds with the zipper – it lets me take off the cover and wash it.
ADD: Heated beds are not necessary. The dog’s body heat will warm up his bed.
Get the kind with a removable, washable cover. There are dozes of styles and sizes and prices to choose from.
When the bed is soiled, zip off the cover and throw it in the washer and dryer. Problem solved!
You can purchase beds with removable covers that can be washed on a weekly basis or a pillow-like bed that can be washed as a whole in a commercial sized washer found at most laundry mats.
i have one that looks like a basket (wood) and doesn’t grab on too hair….. inside a pillow with a removable case to machine wash

The majority of these beds have removable covers that are machine washable. Some of them also repel dirt, water and hair so they stay cleaner, longer.
Heated dog beds are not necessary, so don’t waste your money on them. There are beds that are designed to keep your dog cool in the summer and warm in the winter, though, like this one:
