What brand of dog bed is the best?

4

I want to get my dog a therapeutic bed since he is getting old and has a bad back. Any links or websites where I can check it out? Also I need one that doesn’t cost oodles of money.

I bought my dog a bed and he just ended up sleeping on mine.

My dog loves sleeping in my bed. May want to try it.

Not sure how much is “oodles” but there are a lot of good dog beds at Drs. Foster & Smith’s website. The one I got they don’t make anymore but they have the same thing with even more padding, it’s here:

It’s probably the most expensive bed there is, but even a 90 pound lab doesn’t compress the foam. He was much more comfortable after we got this bed. Often, he would even leave the room we were in to go sleep on it.

Whatever you do, don’t get one of those orthopedic pads that’s just one layer of egg-crate foam. They’re worthless if your dog is big (the foam will be squished flat in weeks) and uncomfortably bumpy if your dog is small.

    This one looks good

and is less expensive than the other, but I haven’t used it so I don’t know for sure how good it is.

Something to keep in mind, if you plan on having dogs of about the same size (or smaller) for the rest of your life, the more expensive beds will last FOREVER and will save you money in the long run. You might need to buy a new washable cover every 5 years or so, but if you don’t mind it fading you won’t even have to do that. My 50-pound chow mix loves this bed now that our 90-pound lab is gone, and he doesn’t even have any joint problems yet. I fully expect that when he dies, our next dog will be able to use it too. Before I got this bed I went through 3 beds on just one dog because they wore holes out or squished flat and weren’t refillable.

    Hi,

I have a website all about Standard Poodles and there is a page about picking out the best dog bed for your dog, which applies to any dog. Check it out, it might help.
