Why does my dog act like this with her toy?
Okay so 4 or 5 months ago I bought a stuffed dog toy for my shih tzu. She immediately became extremely attatched to it, she has it with her basically 24/7. She carrys it around and whines a lot when she holds it, she even takes it to bed. She growls or acts defensive if anyone tries to touch her dog or play with her when she has the dog. Also she is not having a phantom pregnancy. Is there any reason why shes acting like this? Or is it simply just her favourite toy?
Shes being dominant over her toy and possesive. You need to take the toy away from her on a regular basis to let her know its not hers and that its yours
its all dominance she wants her toy to know she is in charge
Thats her toy and her toy only.
