What are some possible ways a dog can die while sleeping with you in your bed?
Is blanket covering their nose a factor? Or will they know?
please list some ways a dog can die in bed.. I want to sleep with my dog in bed.. but i’m very self cautious, espeically lately I keep thinking my dog is going to die from unable to breath

my cat sleeps in the bed under the covers all the time. she lovers it. my dog is about 40 lbs… she could push me off if she wanted to.. also pets dont sleep heavy like we do. if they’re not comfortable they’ll move.
They won’t allow themselves to suffocate under the blankets they’ll get up and move if they have a hard time breathing.. It’s not really dangerous sleeping in bed at night.. Dogs can die of natural causes, but really I think you can stop worrying about dangers in the bed.
lol no they cant die that way ^_^ if a dog needs air he’ll get it
Um I’ve never heard of a dog being smothered while sleeping in it’s owners bed. I suppose it MIGHT be dangerous if you have a very small dog and are a REALLY heavy sleeper. Then you might roll over on the dog and injure it but most dogs will get out of your way before anything like that happens.
If your worried about the dog smothering or getting smooshed just keep it in a doggy bed set up right beside your bed. That way nothing will happen to it and you can still get a good nights sleep.
i share my bed with my husband, 2 pomeranians, a catahoula, a mutt, and 2 cats…sometimes my 3yr old if he cant sleep (thank goodness for california kings lol) and weve never had a problem
i highly doubt your dog will die that way. my sister’s dog would jump into her bed… but sleep at her foot and maybe next to her side if she felt like being cuddled. she falls from the bed occassionally.. but she just looks up and jumps back on, or she just falls back asleep.
my dog doesn’t like sleeping on my bed. ]; she rarely will. so if your dog is just like mine, keep his bed next to your bed so you have some presence of your dog near you.
and i am sure that if a dog feels overwhelmed with a blanket or anything, it will move..
[; good luck
Only if they are really old and die of age.
If you are still worried ask your vet.
GOOD LUCK!!
they’ll get up if they cant breathe or if they arent comfortable, believe me my dog kicks me off of the bed allll the time x]
Bless your heart..you’re a newby aren’t you? First pup maybe? Honey your dog is going to be just fine and VERY happy to sleep with his owner who obviously loves him a whole bunch!!
The only thing you really need to worry about is that he doesn’t hurt himself trying to get in or out of bed. Put a stool or other container by your bed if he’s little so he has a way to get in and out safely without hurting himself. This is also necessary so he doesn’t peepee on you in the middle of the night because he can’t get down on his own.
It’s very sweet that you’re so worried about him. You’re going to do just fine. He’ll be okay.
