CV academic team heads to state
The Caney Valley High School Academic team won its ninth Area Championship on Jan. 16 by defeating Chouteau-Maize, 190-180; first-ranked Perry, 290-130; and second-ranked Quapaw, 170-100. Timothy Hazelwood led the scoring with 120 points.
