how do i wash a dog bed?

3

i have bought a dog bed for my 2 dogs which looks similar to the one on this website.
i can take out the pillow and wash it no problem but the frame or the outside now how do i wash that as my dogs have had an accident next to it and it kinda “leaked” into the bed? can i stick it in the wash? won’t it then be “washed” out of shape? do i have to dry clean it? i really have no clue!
thanks!

Take it to the carwash, the do it yourself wash. Nothing a little power washing cant get out!

It’s possible the foam that makes the shape will lose it’s place if washed. I would take the chance and take it to a local laundry and wash it in one of the big washers. Foam gets super heavy when logged with water. If you dry it then only dry it on fluff cycle with no heat. The foam can actually catch fire if it gets too hot. If it does go out of shape then you can try and hand mold it back into place by pinching and pulling the foam through the fabric. I worked at a dry cleaners and what they would do is take it all apart and pull the foam out. Then wash the fabric, put the foam back in and sew it all up. It’s expensive also. That’s probably a waste of time because the foam itself won’t get cleaned. Hope this helps :) Good luck.
