How do I stop my dog from dragging his bed outside?

6

My dog’s bed is in the laundry room, which connects through a doggy door to a large (40×80 feet) fenced-in play area. Everyday he pulls his bed out through the doggy door and either runs around with it or just lies on it. He’ll even take it outside when it’s raining or snowing. What can I do to stop him?

LOL – At least he doesn’t shred it like my Aussie does, I spend a fortune in dog beds every year!

Maybe you could tether it to the wall of the laundry room wall with a lightweight chain and attach it to the corner of the bed or something…

Try giving him something else that he CAN take out to play with. Try a stuffed animal or small blanket and encourage him to play and run with it. Maybe then he’ll leave the bed alone!

    nail it to the floor..
    thats always worked for me.

try buying it some toys so it can drag that outside instead of his comfy bed.

That’s funny! I can just picture it. Don’t ya just love doggies? I don’t know. Maybe he’s afraid someone will steal his bed when he’s outside. Maybe it’s a possessive thing. Or maybe he needs some lawn furniture. LOL! I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist that. Maybe you could get him a new bed for inside and let him have the old one outside. I don’t know. Worth a try I guess. What a cool dog! : )
