How do I get a plastic dog toy to stop smelling so strongly like plastic?

3

I have tried washing it both in the wash machine and in the dishwasher several times but it still smells. My dog will not play with it. Any suggestions?

Try soaking it in chicken or beef broth. Usually a good idea to get low sodium broth just to be safe.

sometimes a dog just isnt interested in a certain toy.

my akita likes a ball, kong , rope and Frisbee.

the other dogs refuse to play with anything that isnt mildly stuffed with floppy arms.

I had the same problem with some dog toys. put it in vinegar for a day then wash it with dog shampoo and I thing it will work.
