I am 30 weeks pregnant due January 27, 2010… should I buy baby gear now or wait?
I want to be prepared for when baby comes but is it too early to buy the stroller, car seat, crib, etc.? Some say it is bad luck to purchase these things now… others say I should wait I will lose focus on work sitting there trying to assemble everything before hand.. but my thing is what if I have a premature delivery… I know my mother and fiance are here but I also want to have some say in what is purchased and don’t want everything to be bought in a rush
well honestly Im not superstitious so I personally dont believe in bad luck. But I like to be prepared esp if its my first. I bought things all through my pregnancy although I was more cautious about it very early on because anything could happen. But by 5 months I was buying everything. Do what feels right for you. Also you may want to wait after the baby shower (if you are gonna have one) to see what your missing. Congrats.

Girl, NO, it’s not too early to buy anything …
I got my crib, changing table, and chest at like 15 weeks. I am 27 weeks and have already had one of my showers and we only have a few things left to buy. I do not believe in luck. When things happen they happen for a reason, not as a result of good luck or bad luck. That’s my opinion anyway.

I have everything bought and I’m due the day before you. I have to put the room together still which we are doing in December but I have all the stuff bought already.
i had everything bought by the time i was 28 weeks pregnant I am now 32 weeks pregnant and the nursery is done. everything I need is bought and I wouldnt have it any other way. I am not having a baby shower, some people wait to get things until after the baby shower but if you want to buy stuff you should. Its not to early you are already 30 weeks! if baby was born now it would most likely survive.
Go ahead and buy stuff! Why not? I’m 27 weeks and I’ve had my stroller/carseat, crib, swing & bouncer, etc since about 15 weeks. I got it all on sale mostly and I’m glad I did. All that stuff is now out of the way and all I need is my smaller things. My baby shower is in a few weeks and then after that I will buy whatever else I need and that way I can get everything set up ahead of time so it’s ready to go! By things whenever you want to!
30 weeks?? Omg, yes you need to start buying things now so you can decide where to put there, how to set up, etc. You also need time to learn how to learn how to use certain things. YOu know in this day of change, theyre always creating new and complicated things.
My suggestion would be if you have waited this long then I would wait another week until black friday and see if you can get everything on sale! Try Target, Babys R Us, Walmart, etc….

30 weeks is a fine time to get everything. Are you planning on having a baby shower though? You migth want to wait to see what people get you. I had my baby shower when I was 34 weeks pregnant. Then when I was 36 weeks pregnant I set everything up.
But I still bought a few clothing items here and there earlier in pregnancy that I thought were cute.
I’m due on new years eve and I’m 34 weeks pregnant, so not much ahead of you. I had my baby’s crib, stroller and carseat by the end of august. I have everything ready for him and now all i have to do is just wait for him to get here. You shouldn’t buy baby stuff in the first three months of pregnancy, because those are the months that miscarriage is a higher chance. Your due date is coming soon, I’d really think about starting to buy stuff, because if something happened and your baby had to be delivered, you will have nothing ready for it.
I’m 30 wks. pregnant and we’ve bought car seats, strollers, clothing, etc. I don’t think that buying things for your baby before hand will give you bad luck. I did with my first and she was healthy when she was born. I like to be prepared for the “just in case”. I plan to wash his clothing sometime in december so I dont have to do it in january. do what ever works for you.
im 20 weeks and have tons of stuff, bassinet, clothes, toys, a crib soon. go ahead and buy stuff through out the pregnancy so the expenses dont all come at once.
Shoot. I’d start buying baby things! I started buying things when I was 12 weeks pregnant and was finished by the time I was 33 weeks pregnant, and my baby is completely healthy and I’m being induced Monday at 4 AM.. so I say go for it! Better safe then sorry honey.

It is not to early to buy things for baby. Generally the superstition about buying baby things is before your 12 weeks along.
I have everything ready all I have left to do is pack my hospital bag. Oh and buy some more baby towels, lol.I sort of cheated though as I already had everything I needed as I had only had my son a few months before I was pregnant again, so everything was already here all I had to do was re-arrange the kids rooms.
I personally like to have everything ready by 6 months. But thats just me. I if dont I have panic attacks. Not that being prepared by then stops me freaking out, lol

Hi im due 3 days after you. Personally i would start getting everything now. This is my second child and with the first one i didn’t have anything ready and was rushing at the last minute with baby in hand! When you have your baby you won’t want to be thinking of anything else. Congratulations!
