What time should I put my dog to bed?

3

Usually I put him to bed at 1030-1130. I say, “Go to bed” and he goes in his bed. But if i don’t say it he’ll just keep sitting by me. Is that too late for a dog to stay up? He’s 8 years old. And usually he wakes up for breakfast and a pee around 730am, and then naps until lunch time.
He’s a Newfoundland/Golden Retriever Mix. He’s black and he weighs 90lbs.

I volunteer for a dog behaviorist/dog trainer and she and I both agree that it’s not too late to put the dog to bed. The dog has a good bond with you, and wants to be with you. He will sleep during the day when he needs to. I see no problem with this!! :) Many dogs stay up with their owners and sleep during the day when they are at work…

Dogs are great at adapting to their owners lifestyle and routine…

i think that is late for a dog to be staying up especially if he wakes up at 730am the poor dog needs his rest you should send him to bed at 800-830pm the most so he wakes up energized
