Does the baby stop moving as much right before labor?

4

I’ve been having very mild contractios for a week. The doctor says it’s just my body gearing up for labor. They are getting a little bit stronger, but VERY irregular. The baby is really moving ALOT lately and was wondering if he’ll stop moving so much when real labor kicks in?

It’s different for everyone. He may or may not. Usually they slow down a bit but not a lot.

my son didn’t he was still kicking and wiggling right up to having him. in between contractions i could still feel him moving around. right up untill i was pushing.

    good luck

My midwife told me that was a myth, and the baby moves normally all up until you deliver her/him. A little bit of decreased movement might be normal if, but anything insignificant should be checked out ASAP!!

I am 39 weeks and I have the same problem. I will get good contractions for a couple hours then stop and before they come on my baby is all kicks and punches and then after it is like everything tucked her out. If you do not feel your baby more at least 10-15 times a day then you need to tell your doctor. Baby movement slows down a little during the last few weeks/month.
