Check yard sales. You can get some really food stuff there. For things like a car seat, you won’t want to buy that second hand. I don’t know if they have Big Lots where you are, but they have one here and I was amazed by the selection and things were so inexpensive. We got travel system, a convertible car seat for the other car, a pack and play, and a bunch of other miscellaneous baby items there for under $400.00. Great deals.

You should buy the book “Baby Bargains”. They have tons of tips and advice on saving money. They rate almost everything, suggest the best stores and places to buy, and tell you what you really need and what you can skip. They also have a money-back guarantee that their tips will save you money. I know I saved a ton after I read it.

Ebay, yard sales, cosignment shops, dollar stores such as Dollar General or Family Dollar, store sales

Try your local craigslist. This is my FAVORITE place to get things. My son is almost two and we have bought sooo much stuff there. We recently got a play kitchen complete with a TON of play food and dishes for $15!!! E-bay is great too. I got my sons bedding from E-bay. The theme was Peter Rabbit and you can only get that bedding in Europe for some reason and there was no way in H*ll that I was going to pay to have it shipped here, so I did e-bay and found the perfect set, used, but it was beautiful and no one ever knew! Good Luck!

    1. Clearance racks at wal-mart. Shop for what you like, and wait for it to go on sale.
    2. Salvation Army
    3. Yard sales
    4. Clearance at target

I have a rule that I never pay more than 5 dollars for any one clothing item I buy my kid (except for like jackets and stuff) and with those 4 things my child is very well dressed.

Hi, by far the cheapest place to find baby gear is hands down Craigslist. We’ve been buying all of our baby stuff on there from other people who no longer need the items because their babies have grown up. And we’ve gotten baby clothes as cheap as .70 per piece, toys more than half off. Walmart and Target can’t even beat the prices and the money we’ve saved. Seriously look into it! People post new items on there all the time. We’ve bought all used items and they were all great! Link is below. When you get to the city you are in or close to, the “BABY+KIDS” category is listed under “FOR SALE”. That’s where all the good stuff is.
