Why does my dog drag his bed around the house?
My dog has this fascination for dragging his bed from the laundry into the tv room and playing with it as if it’s a toy (of which he has a whole selection of toys at his disposal anyway).
I don’t understand it. I know he likes his bed, and he likes it being in the laundry. Is it just an attention seeking strategy? He gets a whole lot of attention from us, but I guess it will never be as much as he wants. Or could it be something else?
Yes, it happens when we’re sitting watching tv.
He readily runs into the laundry and into his little bed shaped like a house every night when he say goodnight to him.

Because it’s his !
Teritorial reasons.
just like children and even you, a dog can have a favorite toy. my dog LOVES this piece of hose..carries the nasty thing everywhere, perhaps one day you will bring home something that your dog favors better, but for now…dont worry about it and let him have fun!!
maybe it gives him a sense of security.
He is playing with it and likes to keep it near . My dog does the same thing . He would take it out the back door if I let him .
He might not feel comfortable/safe being alone so he brings it to wear people are.
Dogs are pack animals and all of you are his pack. He just wants to be with you and of course he couldn’t leave his beloved bed behind! If you prefer that he be in the laundry you might try putting a towel in his bed that you have dried off with or rubbed on yourself to give it your scent. This method works well when you have to leave your pet, but if he can hear you in the other room it may not be as effective.
My dog moves her bed as well (well, actually 2 pillows as she would rather sleep on those), and she shifts them from place to place all the time. At times it is to get a spot of sun, others it is to be close to me. I have a question: are you in the laundry room or TV room when he moves his bed in there? It could be that he wants to be close to you but have his favorite possession nearby as well. It is not attention seeking, it could be that he just wants to be with the people he loves as well as that bed! I would let him go, it will not harm him, and it is more common than you think.
Maybe he has obsessive compulsion disorder and feel anxious when he doesn’t have his bed with him!!!!! LOL, no really it’s no big deal,it’s more of a comfort thing, either that or he just feels like rearranging his furniture !!!

He’s trying to runaway!
