Day of Service 2009 Jupiter Ward Stuart Stake Florida
By April 25, 2009 members of the Jupiter Ward and friends donated 650 service hours to northern Palm Beach County. In addition to generous donations from FPL, the Bagel Boyz, The Body Shop, Stampin’ Up!(R), Sky High Roofing, Moms Club of Jupiter, Publix, and anonymous donors, volunteers sorted and deliverd 2300 pounds of clothing, toiletries, and baby gear to Belle Glade First Care pregnancy center, and Our Sister’s Place Thrift Store and Florida Resource Center, who shelter battered women and children. Workers gave a facelift to the West Palm Beach Westgate homeless shelter eating area; laid sod, built walls, and roofed a Habitat for Humanity home in Jupiter; and helped at El Sol day labor center. Helpers also made Stampin’ Up cards for the Ronald McDonald house in Ft. Lauderdale. Local efforts were coordinated by Hugh Jacobs, Andy Rosenberg, Mike Phillips, Russ Shurtz, Nancy Morris, Charlene Harreveld, and Dave & Liz Robertson, of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Jupiter ward, Stuart Florida stake. This video was produced by Cris and Dave Rabbage, with photographers Anna Jaimez, Consuelo Gonzalez, Bob Earl, Carolyn Haymond, Dave Robertson, and Andy Rosenberg.
