Steps to Making Hundreds of Dog Collars
I usually make 100+ collars at a time, so I thought you might enjoy seeing the process. I’m working on Halloween and Autumn themed collars in this session. Enjoy!

i would love to make these for my dogs but how big do i cut them?
@HaleyScreammmm
Hi again, Haley!
you can find interfacing usually at WalMart stores, if they have a fabric department. I really think the quality is better at JoAnn’s, though.

@sptreasures Thank you for your help, I have a 5 week old chihuauha and hes gonna be tiny when he gets older so I’ll have to make a collar that will fit him. I’m also making him a doggie bed.
could you buy interfacing at wal-mart?
@HaleyScreammmm
Hi Haley–I prefer high quality quilt fabric/100% Cotton and a good sturdy craft weight interfacing.
You can purchase my fully illustrated tutorial on Etsy:

Do you use any fabric & what is interfacing do you need it?
@Uhhlaneuh I’m not sure what you mean by “bubble up”. After the ironing step, everything stays pretty much in place. You can purchase my tutorial for collars online @ crazyforcollars.etsy.com
I’m sorry another question @sptreasures , how does the fabric not bubble up when you stitch it? Is that what the ironing is for?
@Uhhlaneuh Great question! I line the interior of my larger sized collars with webbing to add extra strength and durability.
How does this work on animals that pull on a collar? Would it tear or rip?
@ShihTzuLove788 Hello and thank you for this inquiry. Interfacing is a product sold in fabric stores and fabric departments. It adds strength and thickness to fabric. It comes in several different weights and varieties.

what is a interfacing strip?
@DuckVader64 I use a heavy weight, fusible interfacing that is available at most fabric/craft stores. For more details visit the tutorial section of my Etsy shop: crazyforcollars.etsy (dot) com

what is the interfacing strip made out of?
@sptreasures can you hand sew it? because i do have a seweing machine but hvent used it in decades and it dosent work? thanks please reply ASAP
@KatCountry1033Girl Hi there and I hope you are enjoying making the collars as much as I do. It really took days to make that many collars, but I rarely attempt that any longer. I usually just make up a few in each design/size now and then make them on an “as sold” basis.
Hope that makes sense.

I actually bought your ebook. How long does it take you to make this many collars?
This is a great video–I’ma huge fan of these tutorials. Thanks for posting!
@reneespace Hi Renee–I am a huge fan of Janome sewing machines and currently have several of them. If you plan to make this more than a hobby, then I would suggest getting a nice, heavy duty machine.
Hope that helps. If you have more questions, contact me via
