25

I usually make 100+ collars at a time, so I thought you might enjoy seeing the process. I’m working on Halloween and Autumn themed collars in this session. Enjoy!

    You can find hardware on Etsy, Ebay, and several places online. Just Google dog collar hardware. Good luck!

    @HaleyScreammmm
    Hi again, Haley!
    you can find interfacing usually at WalMart stores, if they have a fabric department. I really think the quality is better at JoAnn’s, though.

    @sptreasures Thank you for your help, I have a 5 week old chihuauha and hes gonna be tiny when he gets older so I’ll have to make a collar that will fit him. I’m also making him a doggie bed. :) could you buy interfacing at wal-mart?

    @HaleyScreammmm
    Hi Haley–I prefer high quality quilt fabric/100% Cotton and a good sturdy craft weight interfacing.
    You can purchase my fully illustrated tutorial on Etsy:

    Thanks for the inquiry!

    Do you use any fabric & what is interfacing do you need it?

  12. sptreasures says:

    @Uhhlaneuh I’m not sure what you mean by “bubble up”. After the ironing step, everything stays pretty much in place. You can purchase my tutorial for collars online @ crazyforcollars.etsy.com

  13. Uhhlaneuh says:

    I’m sorry another question @sptreasures , how does the fabric not bubble up when you stitch it? Is that what the ironing is for?

  14. sptreasures says:

    @Uhhlaneuh Great question! I line the interior of my larger sized collars with webbing to add extra strength and durability.

  15. Uhhlaneuh says:

    How does this work on animals that pull on a collar? Would it tear or rip?

  16. sptreasures says:

    @ShihTzuLove788 Hello and thank you for this inquiry. Interfacing is a product sold in fabric stores and fabric departments. It adds strength and thickness to fabric. It comes in several different weights and varieties.

  18. sptreasures says:

    @DuckVader64 I use a heavy weight, fusible interfacing that is available at most fabric/craft stores. For more details visit the tutorial section of my Etsy shop: crazyforcollars.etsy (dot) com

    @KatCountry1033Girl Hi there and I hope you are enjoying making the collars as much as I do. It really took days to make that many collars, but I rarely attempt that any longer. I usually just make up a few in each design/size now and then make them on an “as sold” basis.
    Hope that makes sense.

    @reneespace Hi Renee–I am a huge fan of Janome sewing machines and currently have several of them. If you plan to make this more than a hobby, then I would suggest getting a nice, heavy duty machine.
    Hope that helps. If you have more questions, contact me via
