We’re having our first somewhere around June 26. I think that we’re pretty much set on clothing and baby gear but I keep getting suggestions from other parents that I’ve missed. Ex: Baby Tylenol.
I’d love to get some more suggestions from other parents to make sure I have my bases covered.
About us:
We will be breastfeeding and cloth diapering (prefolds and bummis covers). I will be home for the first 4 months. We do have our own washer and live in a two bedroom apartment. We have two cats. We’re having a boy.

I’m thinking of opening a retail store and here’s my idea. What I’d like to do is sell baby products, (clothing, toys, diaper bags, & maybe maternity clothes), and pet products, (clothing, toys, beds, collars & leashes, & other novelty items). I’d like to sell higher end, but not extremely expensive things. I’m thinking the name will have something to do with baby, for human babies and people pets who are their babies. I’m not sure on that yet thought. I’d really, really like to know what people think of that idea.
Also, parents….I need your opinions on quality baby gear. I want to know your ideas on everything from clothing to blankets and books. Any advice would help. I want to sell durable, cute goods that people will want to come back for.
All the help I can get would be appreciated. Thank You!

My friend just had a baby and she and her husband already have everything they need–and they are financially well-off, so they won’t need diapers or formula. I would like to give them a great and lasting gift, not just a jumper or a blanket. I was thinking of something more along the lines of a savings bond or something else kind of unrelated to newborn babies, but I think it may be too impersonal. Again, I would like a gift that would last a long time. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
