Although the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act which will go into effect on February 10, 2009 does not require second-hand shops like hers to lab test children’s clothing, books and toys for lead, she is afraid for the future of her business because the laws state that she will still be legally responsible should anything she sells violate the new lead laws. I have little things, lots of clothes and toys. I also plan on selling all my big things … changing table, crib, swing, high chair, pack and play. They are all used through one child, but in pretty good condition (save for everyday scratches,etc.). I’m looking for opinions on what fair prices would be for these things.
(*Another note … I live in the city, but I’m having the sale at my mom’s, very rural. Does that change the price at all???)
